FOX Business reports that some of the big money donors to Romney’s campaign are reneging and investing in down-ticket Senate and House Republicans who have a better chance of winning in November.
FOX says a source who has “direct knowledge” and who is a major player in Romney’s New York fundraising circles claims that a few New York donors backing out. He argues that it is not critical, but another unnamed FOX source says the trend goes beyond New York and is more broad-based.
With poll numbers showing Obama leading in swing states as well as among key demographics, Romney’s numbers are not looking good. Women are also an important factor and his recent 47% comments have really worked against him.
